A Big Trouble in Little China updates is on the cards and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is pegged to star, the movie will not be a remake.
Johnson and his producing partners at Seven Bucks Productions, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia, pitched the remake to rights-owner Fox, which released the original film. Big Trouble in Little China is one of Johnson’s favorite movies, and Miller and Stentz have already closed a deal to write the script.
However, John Carpenter is not happy.
Asked by CinemaBlend this week about his thoughts on the film, Carpenter was frank: “They want a movie with Dwayne Johnson. That’s what they want. So they just picked that title. They don’t give a s–t about me and my movie. That movie wasn’t a success.”
Of course, there are beans that have to be counted. John’s services are no longer required.
