Chris Evans has been speaking to The Hollywood Reporter. In the interview, Evans boasts of being politically outspoken.
“You don’t want to alienate half your audience, but I’d be disappointed in myself if I didn’t speak up. Especially for fear of some monetary repercussion or career damage – that just feels really gross to me. Marvel has never said anything. On the contrary – when I bump into Kevin Feige [Marvel Studios president] the first thing out of his mouth is ‘Man, I love what you’re doing [on Twitter].’”
Evans insinuates that he’s being a rebel and doing something dangerous – by regurgitating what is already en vogue within his industry, and an entirely safe bet. Man says exactly what his superiors allow him to say, or even encourage him to say, then wants praise for offering edgy, hot takes. This is like a Kim Jong minion wanting praise for calling the dictator slim and muscular.
Shut the fuck up Evans.
Not only is your role within society to provide escapism (be seen, not heard), but you worsen your position by claiming to fall on a non-existent grenade.
Meanwhile, who remembers Tim Allen and the controversy over his TV show, Last Man Standing getting the axe?
