Mel Gibson is appearing in a new movie titled Rothchild. The movie is already drawing heat from critics, with the likes of Variety now questioning what prompted Mr. Gibson, whom they allege has a history of anti-semitism, to make a movie making a mockery out of a famous and controversial Jewish oligarch.
Respond to the controversy on Tuesday, Gibson’s publicist Alan Nierob issued a statement to the Daily Beast about Rothchild, saying the film had nothing to do with the real Rothschild family.
“I feel the need to spare you any embarrassment as I’m told this film is about a fictional family (hence the name ‘Rothchild’) vs the Rothschild family to which you are referring,” Nierob wrote. “Completely unrelated to your premise and angle. Hopefully this is helpful to you.”
“Rothschilds? Who are they? Don’t know what you’re on about, pal!”. Hilarious trolling already.
