After the recent news that The Expendables 4 would’ve moved ahead quickly in May were it not for Covid-19, at least according to Avi Lerner, a new rumor emerges about the potential director of the film. Spanish distribution site Vertice360 has Patrick Hughes listed as the man who’ll helm the sequel.
What’s more they present the film as having a 2022 release date. Although it is a good idea to take this news with some salt, it’s probably a placeholder listing. Hughes’ most recent film was The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, with the director then set to direct The Man from Toronto, featuring Expendables alumni Jason Statham.
Mind you, the writer Gregory Poirier would be a concern of mine. A couple of scrolls through his Twitter feed and I’m seeing an uncomfortable amount of Trump Derangement Syndrome and ANTIFA memes…
