BUTLER VS. A COMET

Gerard Butler is back doing the manly movie thing again.  This time in (another) natural disaster flick, with Earth threatened by a comet.  And the film is coming in the next two weeks via Amazon Prime.

In Greenland, Butler plays John Garrity, a construction engineer who begins getting mysterious messages from Homeland Security that a comet the media has said will pass Earth harmlessly, is in fact going to ram into the planet and, presumably, shit will get blown up real good.

After all, the film is directed by Ric Roman Waugh, although Butler’s budgets seem to be getting a little smaller at $35 million.

Synopsis: Scientists discover that fragments of a comet will hit Earth in a few days, and will likely cause the extinction of humanity; the only hope of survival is to take shelter in a group of bunkers in Greenland.

As the world prepares for the unthinkable, family man John Garrity struggles to ensure the safety of his wife and son as they journey across the country to get to the shelter in Greenland before it’s too late.
