After previously working with Dolph Lundgren in 2015’s WW2 thriller War Pigs (which also featured Chuck Liddell, Luke Goss and Mickey Rourke), actor/writer/producer Steven Luke is teaming up with Dolph again for another WW2 feature.
This time, Luke will both direct and write (Ryan Little directed War Pigs)… Operation Seawolf.
The film, based in WW2, will also obviously be set at sea. A submarine thriller, it’ll likely cover the Battle of the Atlantic. Further details are not yet available, although the director tells ManlyMovie that he has various other war movie irons in the fire as well.
I have confidence in one of the key elements of a good submarine thriller for this movie; convincing interiors. Previously, Dolph appeared in the fairly poor submarine thriller Black Water with Jean Claude Van Damme, where the submarine rooms looked like something film in an office block – not good
However production of War Pigs excelled with some accurate and rare military equipment (rare Panzers for example, or at least the best replicas out there). The film survived nitpicking war nerdery, so I expect the same quality here.
More details will follow…
