Somewhere, there exists (another, separate from a different failed TV series) a TV pilot for Tremors. Featuring a returning Kevin Bacon. Actually that somewhere is SyFy, who have elected not to broadcast it, ever. Which is strange, since SyFy shows some pretty horrible television. It couldn’t be that bad, could it?
Speaking to TheHollywoodReporter, Bacon says now:
“We were around the 25-year anniversary. I went to Blumhouse, and they were totally into the idea. Universal didn’t want to remake it as a feature and also maybe because it didn’t work as a feature the first time. So we put it aside. Then they came back to me and said, ‘What would you think about doing it as a series?’”
The TV series was to see Bacon return, playing his original character. Only this time he’s a washed up wino and has (even less) respect from the locals than before. Also returning at the same time are the Graboids and, thus, battle commences for a second time.
