FIRST LOOK AT RESIDENT EVIL TV SERIES

I wonder if the director behind the new Resident Evil movie is upset that this thing is running alongside it.  To be clear, there are two projects on the horizon, a film being released this year, then a separate TV series being released next year by Netflix.

For the latter, above is the first look at the cast of the TV series.

Lance Reddick has signed on to portray the villainous head of Umbrella Corporation, Albert Wesker.  Adeline Rudolph, Tamara Smart and Selena Agudong have also signed on for unspecified roles.

The series will be eight hours long and run two timelines; one a prequel, with two teenage girls moving to Raccoon City for the first time and the other jumping forward to the same girls in their 30’s in the same city, where the T-Virus has broken out.

By most accounts, the TV series is doing most things wrong while the theatrical movie planned for this year is being adamantly faithful to the first two games.  But already, the two are being confused, with Netflix’s more controversial/’loose’ series kind of piggy-backing the separate movie’s PR.
