We mentioned here a while back that Predator 5 was going to be a feminist movie.  Now mainstream sites are starting to acknowledge what’s going on.  The new film is called Skull and will star scowling feminist Amber Midthunder as the lead actress/heroine.

The movie features a petite Native American girl taking on a Predator.  Now, producer John Fox says this about the movie:

“It goes back to what made the original Predator movie work. It’s the ingenuity of a human being who won’t give up, who’s able to observe and interpret, basically being able to beat a stronger, more powerful, well-armed force,” he explained.

“It actually has more akin to The Revenant than it does any film in the Predator canon. You’ll know what I mean once you see it,” promised Fox, though Davis declined to reveal the specific time period. “You can use your imagination. It is… early.”

If you think this sounds bad, you’ll probably feel even worse when you learn that it might (probably?) be PG-13.  This is after recently learning that the movie could be VOD as well.  Fox says:

… it all depends on how you end up cutting it, right? It was conceived as an R-rated movie. It could easily end up PG-13.

But wait.  It gets better.  With shades of Bruce Willis once boasting that DHINO was superior to Die Hard, John Davis says that this film will at least be better than Predator 2.

It’s going to be, I believe, the second best — or the first… or it may be equal to the first one. Right? I feel like the first one was a wonderful, interesting movie and I know what worked about it. I feel like we kind of never got back there again. We ended up in different places. I think this is a worthy complement to the first one. It’s going to be as good.

How can they not see how badly this is going to go down?  It’s a guaranteed financial loss.  There will probably be hate directed towards Midthunder on social media, with cries of sexism, bigotry etc.  It’s almost like they want it to happen…
