RICHARD DONNER DEAD AT 91

Peerless American film director Richard Donner has died at the age of 91. Donner’s wife, Lauren Schuler Donner, producing partner and his business manager, announced the news this morning but no cause of death has been released.

Donner was responsible for so much, there’s almost too much to list.  Far from being just the ‘Lethal Weapon guy’, who made four-for-four good entries (most sequels progressively deteriorate), Donner brought superheroism to the big screen with Superman.

Donner also directed Scrooged, The Omen, The Goonies, Maverick, Conspiracy Theory, 16 Blocks and others.

Donner infamously lured Danny Glover and Mel Gibson back to Lethal Weapon with a bogus promise of Oscar nominations.
