YOU’RE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS! (BRUCE WILLIS)

Here’s a look at Bruce Willis in a new Russian mobile phone advert.

… or is it?

Well it seems that Walter_B has actually found a way around actually even showing up to film scenes, as the company MegaFon is now using DeepFake technology to recreate Willis’ likeness, with Willis’ permission.

The video below is the first of 15 adverts.  In the first for MegaFon, which is the second-largest mobile phone operator and the third-largest telecom operator in Russia, Willis can be seen with Russian actor Azamat Musagaliev.  The double whose face Willis is superimposed onto can be seen here.

In an interview, MegaFon explained the new ad campaign and Willis’ agreement:

All negotiations with Bruce Willis were conducted by our team. It was a very risky idea, but surprisingly, the discussion on collaboration was quick and productive. We told Bruce about MegaFon and the idea of the project. The actor was interested in the brand and our approach to organizing production.

So Bruce was ‘interested in the brand’, I’m sure he was.  And the expected $1-2 million dollar payday was just a side issue.  Willis did not even have to do anything, as his likeness was recreated from 34,000 images and stills of the actor, using AI technology. So even a face scan wasn’t necessary.

In all seriousness, James Cameron mused an idea of using similar technology to recreate a young Dirty Harry.  Not necessarily that he intended to do it, just thinking aloud.  And if Cameron was going to do something like that, you know it’d be better than anyone else’s attempts.
