Dave Bautista is set to star in a new buddy cop film alongside Jason Momoa, according to Deadline.
The report stated that MGM is close to purchasing the rights for the untitled comedy actioner. They say that both men will star as brothers in a Lethal Weapon-esque buddy cop comedy likely to shoot in Hawaii. The idea came from Momoa and Bautista.
During the summer, Bautista posted the following on Twitter:
Just going to throw this out into the atmosphere and see what happens. Here we go…Me and Momoa in a Lethal Weapon type buddy cop movie directed by David Leitch. Ok! There it is. Now we wait.
Momoa repeated and hyped the idea later that week while talking to James Corden. The film will not begin shooting until 2023, so it’s a few years off yet.
