Two pieces of information on movies that have been stuck in development hell for a very long time. First, who remembers when Jamie Foxx was slated to play Mike Tyson? Well according to Foxx in the above video, that movie is back on.
Foxx, who delivers what is actually an astounding Mike Tyson impression, says the film starts at ‘the top of the year’. I don’t know what that means, maybe early 2023? Foxx also gives information on how he met Tyson over 30 years ago.
Beverly Hills Cop 4 is um, happening. Again. This thing has been on and off for 25 years. In recent years, Paramount sold the movie to Netflix, who hired Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah to direct. They left to direct Batgirl.
Now, according to TheWrap, Netflix has hired Marc Molloy, and the movie is back on.
Molloy is an Australian director who has not made a feature movie before, he has only directed television adverts. There is not much known about this movie. Actually, yours truly found something out years ago, when the movie almost began filming in Detroit – that incarnation was to have Foley return to Detroit, for at least part of the movie, when a snowstorm hits the city.
A member of production was in touch during early preparation. I don’t believe this is the theme for the movie any longer however.
