Let me get my Tony Pope on here, and come in with the hot scoop…
Anyone with an interest in Creed III and Sylvester Stallone’s absence from the movie should probably head on over to Stallone’s official forums and look at the thread on the movie there. Note: You need to sign up to view it, but also note: Stallone is a participant in the discussion.
Creed III has Michael B. Jordan directing the project, something that took many by surprise given the man’s lack of experience in the field. Now, according to Sylvester Stallone, the movie has problems and the studio is looking for someone to fix it. They came to him, ‘begging’ him to re-edit it. Stallone refused.
This is apparently on account of the mistreatment of Sylvester Stallone by Irwin Winkler and his family and associates. Stallone was apparently driven out of the franchise and now, certain elements are having some regrets, with Stallone not taking any bait.
When one regular, who has been on the set of these movies, said that egos and greed of certain key players ungratefully drove Stallone out, Stallone replied:
DO NOT OVERTHINK THIS…. WINKER AND SONS HAVE NEVER DONE A DECENT DAYS WORK IN THEIRS LIVES COMPLETE PARASITES… MBJ I FEEL SADNESS FOR WHAT HE HAS FAILED TO DO
AND SHALL NEVER ACHIEVE …. THEY ASKED ME TO RE EDIT CREED 3 OF COURSE I PASSED
Stallone also went on to call the franchise the ‘Titanic’, and revealed how he regrets even appearing in the first movie. Stallone has also turned down cameo scenes in the third movie.
THEY BEGGED TO SHOOT SEVERAL CAMEO SCENES BUT IT WAS INSULTING AS ALWAYS … I TRULY REGRET EVER DOING CREED
Not looking good for Creed III then. What I also take from the discussion is that Michael B. Jordan got ideas above his station and thought Stallone was some type of roadblock to even higher success.
