Who can say it has not been a painful twenty years for live action Resident Evil? First, the Paul W.S. Anderson series, which seemingly wouldn’t end. Then a bad reboot. Now a TV series so awful even Netflix refuses to produce anymore.
The series premiered on July 14th to poor reviews. Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, Paola Nunez and Lance Reddick starred. It has been savaged as being obsessed with identity politics first, anything else thereafter… possibly some horror.
Get woke, go broke.
How genuinely odd. With The Walking Dead’s original run proving to be spectacular, you’d think the OG grand daddy would be a shoe-in for something similar. All they had to do was find a mid-west filming location, follow the original premise and this thing would’ve printed money.
But of course not.
At least the Resident Evil 2 video game reboot was incredible.
