RAMBO AT 40: FANS DESCEND ON HOPE

First Blood was released 40 years ago this weekend.

The first and probably best in the series was distributed by Orion (of course) and garnered over 125 million from a 15 million budget.  Robert de Niro, Clint Eastwood and Steve McQueen were considered for the title role, along with many other famous actors.

As seen in the video above, the town of Hope is being inundated with fans of the franchise.  As fans go to the cinema in the town itself, Sylvester Stallone offers them a message:

Also, regarding a Rambo TV series Stallone recently said:

I’m thinking of a series for Rambo, but I’d give the character to someone else.

So maybe we’ll be circling back around to a younger Rambo, although the TV series quality may be questionable, it appears that Stallone seems to be involved in it once again, but with someone else playing the role of John Rambo.
