TRAILERS: PLANE, BLUE EYE, JACK RYAN…

THE PALE BLUE EYE

Here’s the teaser trailer for The Pale Blue Eye.

The film works from Louis Bayard’s 2006 Gothic thriller novel and unfolds at West Point military academy in 1830. A tired detective (Bale) is hired to quietly look into the gruesome murder of a cadet.

Stymied by the cadets’ code of silence, he enlists one of their own to help unravel the case – a young man (Melling) the world would come to know as Edgar Allan Poe.

PLANE

Here’s the trailer for Gerard Butler-led actioner Plane.

Synopsis: Commercial pilot Brodie Torrance completes an emergency landing after a ravaging storm damages the aircraft. The plane lands in the hostile island of Jolo, Philippines. Soon, the passengers are taken hostage by the local militants of the island. With help struggling to find their location and running out of time. Brodie decides to enlist help from the convicted fugitive that he was transporting along his commercial flight. Together, they work together to rescue the passengers and escape the island.

… Butler doing our niche good service even now.

JACK RYAN SEASON 3

Amazon has another season of Jack Ryan lined up for December 21st. You can check out the trailer above.

Synopsis: In the third season of the action-thriller series, Jack Ryan is working as a CIA case officer in Rome when he is tipped off that the Sokol Project, a secret plan to restore the Soviet Empire, is being resurrected more than 50 years after it was thought to have been shut down.

Suspect.  Looks like more Russian conservative men bad, leftist deep state good.  Every westerner with half a brain knows that our biggest threat/problem lies within our own intelligence services.  We don’t care about Ivan.  So it follows that we’d like to see Ryan vs. The NSA or something.  Doubtful we’re going to get that.  I hear even the new Call of Duty game is pushing deep state foreign policy hard.  It’s getting harder to want to even approach this kind of stuff.

It’s why Bourne was so popular.
