Novelist F. Paul Wilson, who wrote The Keep, which went on to have a movie adaptation of the same name directed by Michael Mann, has some interesting news regarding this property.
Wilson says on social media that after years of legal entanglements there will be a new movie created, with he and Greg Nicotero behind it and the latter to direct:
“Two days ago, after a year and a half of lawyering between the ‘purchaser’ and my side at ICM, I signed an option/purchase agreement with Greg Nicotero for the remake of The Keep. Greg is a longtime fan of the book, and he’s got the chops to do a worthy adaptation.”
A financial and critical failure at the time of its release, the movie has gone on to garner a cult following and is more appreciated in recent times. Even though both Michael Mann and Wilson have shown a lack of interest in the movie or liking for it.
