EXPENDABLES 4 WITHOUT STALLONE?

What is happening with The Expendables 4?  The film has been ‘in the pipeline’ for years now and remember, it’s been six years since the last film was released.  Well the film is still happening according to Millennium Films’ Jeffrey Greenstein.  He tells Variety:

We’re working on getting a fourth “Expendables.” That’s about all I can tell you at this point.

He also says that a reboot of Red Sonja is also on the cards, which will turn into a franchise.  However it appears that Sylvester Stallone is less confident about the movie than Greenstein.  Asked by a fan on Instagram what is happening with the fourth movie, Stallone replied:

Not certain it is happening…

So there are apparently mixed messages coming out of both camps.  Some speculation, but could it be that Stallone is not certain it is happening with him?  One thing is for sure, there is no way Millennium is going to shelve The Expendables name.  And also, at some point, Stallone was always going to bow out.

It’ll continue for sure, but at what point does it milk the VOD sector to death with B-actors?
