The director of Snatch, Guy Ritchie, has an upcoming gig for Warner Bros. when he directs King Arthur. And he seems to have Sons Of Anarchy leading man Charlie Hunnam in mind for the title role.
Hunnam read for the part recently along with Henry Cavill and Jai Courtney. Joby Harold wrote the the script and is producing with Akiva Goldsman and Tory Tunnell. Plot details are under wraps with the film set to open on July 22, 2016. Edris Elba is attached to play a Merlin-esque figure who trains and mentors Arthur.
The last big budget King Arthur movie was released 10 years ago, directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Clive Owen.
