(VIDEO) John McTiernan Slams Political Elite

At the 40th Deauville Film Festival in France, John McTiernan is a special guest and while on stage, improvised a real firebrand political speech.  While on stage McTiernan slammed his government and how he despises the elite and political elite.

McTiernan takes down the U.S. political system, telling his audience/fans how there are more prisoners per capita in the USA than there are in North Korea, that there are more policemen per capita in the USA than there was in Germany in 1938.  This is an entirely politically incorrect speech and in fact is a classic and historical moment.

Had it been politically correct/pro-establishment, I’m sure this would’ve been received much differently in the U.S.  Instead it won’t even be referenced.  I’m not sure that this will have done his career any favours, but McTiernan is a bigger man than someone looking out for his own career.

He’s looking good by the way, for a man at his age who has gone through the wringer.  At any rate, you can check it out in the video below.
