The word of Fury Road for some time is that it’s wall to wall action. That always sounded good to us but with several cuts in existence, one over two hours, we always presumed that it would be edited to be more tempered and less kinetic. But one thing Comic-Con has done is confirm that the movie is almost ceaseless action.
In fact “80% action” is what it’s described as this summer, with Tom Hardy having less lines of dialogue as Mad Max than Arnold Schwarzenegger had as the Terminator, in that movie. The run time is supposed to be 100 minutes at most as well. So this could be an extraordinary adrenaline rush seeing as how it’s also George Miller at the helm.
And speaking of Miller, he has spoken about additional material – sequels?
“In order to tell this story, we came up with two others. We’ve written the screenplay of one and the novelization of another, but it’s a very rough novel. We kept working on them while we were working on other things.”
So which movie has the ability to confront Mad Max in 2015? It already looks like it could well be movie of the year.
