Mad Max: Fury Road was at Comic Con along with director George Miller. New character posters were also revealed (see below) along with footage shown behind closed doors.
- Miller said he was happy with how it turned out. “I’ve been making movies with Warner Bros. since the first Mad Max. They allow filmmakers to have their process. We waited a week to see our dailies, but now you can see it immediately.” Also, as an audience, we can perceive cuts much faster. “If you look at movies like music, the tempo has increased.”
- Miller says the movie is close to Mad Max 2, but only compares the runtime of both and refuses to say if it’s related
- Hugh Keays-Byrne, who reappears as a character in the movie (Immortan Joe) despite being in the original as The Toecutter, will not be the same character
-
The footage shows Max being captured by bad guys who are led by a guy with long hair and a gas mask with giant scary teeth painted/embedded into it. Max manages to escape along with Nicholas Hoult’s character, and then they team up with Furiosa, who has rescued some innocent young girls.
- The vehicles are described as typical Mad Max vehicles, but “on steroids”.
- Dialogue is said to be almost non-existent throughout the entire movie.
- Charlize Theron, supposedly, shares at least an equal amount of screentime as Tom Hardy.
Below are new character posters. But unfortunately aside from these and the above information, nothing much else seems to be coming out from Warner Bros. For now at least.
