Mel/Iron Man – Downey Jr. Says He Wasn’t Serious
Once upon a time, Robert Downey Jr. said he’d only do an Iron Man 4 if Mel Gibson directed, which he sort of confirmed last week, when put on the spot by Deadline. “Sure, why not?” During a Reddit AMA session this week however, Downey Jr. has dismissed the notion:
It was an offhanded remark to a journalist and friend. I have other projects in mind for Mel and I – sooner than later the Marvel Roster will be made public and all questions will be answered.
I really hope that Robert Downey Jr. originally didn’t just say he’d only do Iron Man 4 if Mel directed, just because he personally believed the movie would never happen, especially now that he’s saying it will happen. But that’s just cynicism, he and Mel and very close friends so we look forward to what those projects are that they have planned.
