Red Squad Gets New Synopsis

After months of hearing nothing, a faint pulse can again be felt on John McTiernan’s Red Squad.  Due to shoot in April, then August, then… sometime, the delays have been down to McT rewriting the script to his liking.  Hannibal Classics have acquiesced to his requests, they want this to be their big breakthrough movie and as such will allocate it a larger budget than they have done for any previous project.

Anyway, the new ‘news’ on this.  Supposedly it will be covered in some capactity with the American Film Market, this November.  Although that is not confirmed, it was due to appear at various events throughout the year.

For the AFM though, a new synopsis comes through:

Fed up with red tape and bureaucracy, a DEA agent rounds up a crew of mercenaries and robs a Mexican drug lord. When Their robbery causes the drug lord to retaliate Against innocent people, the mercenaries decided to protect the town.

Sounds good.  And I have faith in the movie.  Word is that Red Squad will shoot before WarBirds, his other upcoming project, in early 2015…
