Will You See Terminator: Genisys If It’s PG-13?

After The Expendables 3 furore where the movie was rated PG-13, you have to wonder if the next retro action movie to face the chop is going to be Terminator: Genisys (goddamnit, I’m sick of having to Google that name to see if I have spelled it correctly).  After all, the last Terminator movie was PG-13.  If this one is, will you go see it?

When Sylvseter Stallone said he was going to ‘outraid The Raid’, many thought that it was a given that The Expendables 3 would be rated-R, especially after the uproar over The Expendables 2 PG-13 reversal.  Likewise the people in charge of Terminator: Genisys have also been leading people up the garden path, probably.  Check out this interaction with TheTerminatorFans:

Mind you, that Tweet is over two years old. At any rate, I’d say holding out for an R-rated Terminator 5 is optimistic, although the chances may have gone down slightly since the PG-13 Expendables 3 bombed.  More or less.  The first question with these people is for this type of thing is probably “can we get away with it?”.  They probably could.

So they probably will.
