A while ago Robert Downey Jr. said he wanted Mel Gibson to direct Iron Man 4. Then he said he wasn’t serious. Well gather round, fellow Gibson-ites, for the GOAT has spoken.
“I’m pretty good at directing. I think I got some statues for it. I think I can do it.”
Indeed. Gibson is a masterful and genius director. He went on, speaking to ExtraTV: “I think I’m a better director than actor. I hope somebody gives me an argument on that.” Allow ManlyMovie to oblige, amazing as Mr. Gibson is as an actor, he’s even more amazing as a director. So amazing that I’d break my (personal) boycott of Marvel tedium to check out what a Gibson-directed Iron Man 4 would look like.
It won’t happen though, Mel still has too many strong enemies, permanent ones it seems. And I think RDJ was always aware of that. However, Mel’s pal Downey says they have another big plan together, but hasn’t released any further info on it. I wonder if RDJ would star in Berserker?
