One of Jason Statham‘s next movies will be the crime thriller Wild Card, previously known as ‘Heat’ and also known as ‘Joker’ in some territories. The film will be directed by The Expendables 2’s Simon West. The film will also be R-rated for strong violence, language and some sexuality/nudity.
Statham will star alongside Milo Ventimiglia and Anne Heche as a recovering gambling addict who takes a job offering protection to his friends. It was written by William Goldman, who wrote the screenplay for the original 1986 movie. Aside from that though, the movie was screened earlier this year and according to (only one) report, it wasn’t a very good movie. Wild Card is another smaller scale movie that will see Statham release such a movie alongside similar efforts in Q4 from Expendables co-stars Arnold Schwarzenegger (Maggie) and Sylvester Stallone (Reach Me).
Below is the synopsis with a new poster.
Nick Wild, an ex-marine and gambling addict, goes into the protection business but plans to leave Las Vegas for a better life. When his last girlfriend, Holly, is found beaten and left for dead, he agrees to help revenge her. He will soon discover that the guilty man is Danny DeMarco, a member of a powerful mob family.
