Blue Thunder Getting The Remake Treatment

Up next for that remake treatment we all love is Blue Thunder, the 1980s television show.  In the original series Roy Schneider was a cop test pilot for an experimental police helicopter learns the sinister implications of the new vehicle.

In the remake though, the airborne surveillance weapon will be a world’s most advanced drone instead of a tricked out helicopter.

Craig Kyle, a former Marvel Studios executive and writer, will pen a modern-day take on the film that starred Roy Scheider. Dana Brunetti, hot off the success of Fifty Shades of Grey, is producing Blue Thunder for his Trigger Street Productions. The move reunites Brunetti with his Fifty Shades producer Michael De Luca, who is now president of production at the studio and will oversee the remake.

I was always partial to Airwolf myself, especially the first series of that show, which was darker and more geared towards a Cold War theme.  Airwolf was remasted last year for Blu-Ray in the UK, not many people know of that.  You can check out my review of it here.
