Kurt Russell Is Forging A Comeback

For a long time things were quiet with Kurt Russell.  Especially when we speak of manly movies.  Somehow though Snake Plissken is coming out swinging and forging a comeback.  And it is not just the recent Furious 7 appearance we’re talking about here.

Kurt is now scheduled to appear in “Deepwater Horizon”, directed by “Lone Survivor” helmer Peter Berg.  The film will also star Mark Wahlberg.

There is more than that however.  Russell also has two westerns upcoming, in “Bone Tomahawk” and not to mention Quentin Tarantino’s “The Hateful Eight”.  So it looks like Lt. Gabe Cash could be going through somewhat of a career renaissance.

I wonder in hindsight if we can still hold him to court for turning down The Expendables.  Sort of I guess.  He turned down the first (and best) movie, which you’d have to admit would’ve been even better if that movie starred him.  This isn’t a slight on Eric Roberts, I am just sure they could’ve found something for both.

Finally, I would highly recommend Kurt’s “Dark Blue”, from 2002.  The film is described by Wikipedia as having a “myriad of bad reviews”, but don’t let that fool you because that’s a good show.
