T-800 On Show In New Terminator: Genisys Poster

Here is a new one for Terminator: Genisys, it’s the old endoskeleton frowning at us again in a display poster at a theatre, thanks to ComicBookMovie.

Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Emilia Clarke, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, Matthew Smith, Courtney B. Vance and Byung-Hun Lee co-star in the film from director Alan Taylor. Laeta Kalogridish and Patrick Lussier penned the script that follows Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) as he’s sent back to the 1970s to protect Sarah Connor.

Unless big things have changed since the script we have read, this will not be a good movie.  And I doubt major things have changed, since the problems are giant narrative ones, with the PG-13 vibe being the least of this movie’s troubles.  I don’t think they had time or the resources to fix that.

At any rate, Arnold Schwarzenegger has also declared that T5 must outdo T2.

I know that we have to outdo T2. The director knows that. The producers know it. The studio knows it. I think everyone is in sync with that, that, visual effects-wise, we have to outdo the second one, because it was so far ahead of its time. So that’s the idea, to come out with a movie with a big bang and to entertain audiences all around the world.

A tall order.  Can you see that happening?  Nah.  Quite frankly, neither can we…
