3) Toyota Supra (Vs ’70 Charger, TFATF)
Allegedly the Charger has a 426 Hemi. Doubtful, especially in the car that gets destroyed. Although one can be seen when Toretto is working on the car, a possible prop like the blower. This scene is why I prefer Cohen’s scenes over the other two directors. Too exciting to be boring, too grounded to jump the shark. Justin Lin seems to prefer chaotic night-scenes as well. This one is a clear afternoon shoot. Anyway, the Dodge pulls away (900BHP of pure Detroit Muscle, claims Toretto) and O’Connor is forced to spray it. Sounds like he hit it at 4th gear in low revs instead of 3rd at a higher range. The actual Supra, supposedly, is quite fast running the real 1/4 at around 12 seconds. Probably faster than this Charger then.
