I think it has been mentioned recently, but there is a possibility that Daniel Craig might check out as James Bond soon. I think that might be a good idea, for the sake of dignity, we wouldn’t want him pulling a Roger Moore. Who could replace him as 007 though? Jason Statham has casually thrown his name into the hat. “Could I do it? Abso-fucking-lutely,” he says. “Would I do it? Abso-fucking-lutely. Is Daniel Craig a great Bond? Abso-fucking-lutely.”
I don’t fancy his chances there. I’d say that the powers that be probably have another, younger actor already eyed up.
Speaking of Bond, per Variety, the November release of Spectre marks the end of a multi-picture deal between MGM and Sony Pictures that began with the incredibly successful reboot Casino Royale. Given the lucrative nature of the franchise, a bidding war is expected to ensue as studios step up to replace Sony in the deal. In fact, it’s already begun.
So the home of the series seems to be up in the air. Personally I’d like to see another refresh of things in that universe.
