Terminator: Genisys Rated 12A In The UK

They’re holding off in telling us what the MPAA rating actually is in the USA for Terminator: Genisys.  Wonder why that is, afraid of negative backlash?  Well other territories have to get a move on, especially since it’s released slightly earlier in some areas.  The best source for Terminator based news, TheTerminatorFans.com, have found the rating for the movie in the United Kindgom:

Now, initially when we managed to confirm our Exclusive story on the age rating we did some digging and found out the movie had a 12 rating in Hungary… this led us to presume it could be a 12 in the UK… but the rating is even less than a 12… it is in fact a 12a (UK equivalent to PG-13) which means anyone under the age of 12 can go to see Terminator Genisys providing they are accompanied by an adult/parent/guardian (pun intended).

You can find full details on the rating and what the parental guide looks like by viewing their article here.  So it sounds like not only is the movie almost certainly PG-13 in the United States, it’s probably only a soft PG-13.  In Ireland the movie has also been classified as 12A, with the only real warning speaking of one instance of strong language.
