‘Point Break’ Star Joins Gibson’s War Movie

Luke Bracey, who will appear in the upcoming remake of Point Break, is returning to his native Australia to star in Mel Gibson’s World War II drama Hacksaw Ridge, starring Andrew Garfield, according Variety.

The movie, based on the life of Desmond T. Doss, a medic and the first conscientious objector, also stars Sam Worthington and Vince Vaughn. The film, which Gibson is directing from a script by Robert Schenkkan and ‘We Were Soldiers’ screenwriter Randall Wallace, begins filming next month.  It is being financially assisted by the Australian Government.

Mel Gibson will follow that up by acting as producer for Chinese WW2 epic The Bombing.
