The Rock Rumoured For Expendables 4… Again

A lot of crap appears when it comes to Expendables news or rumours.  Basic reason for it is that shit heap gossip sites (you know those ‘one trick to lose weight!’ style sties) like to bait people and search engines with bullshit search terms such as Christian Bale as Expendables 4 villain.  Anyway, The Rock has been rumoured before, he said yes, then he said no.  Then he said he’d only do it if he came in as a baddie who killed half the cast.

So once again a rumour comes that The Rock is having (unofficial) talks to appear in a fourth movie.  The source for this is The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, which has been around since at least the 1990’s, so that’s pretty much the only reason I’m mentioning it.  Unless I’m mistaken they have a premium newsletter where people pay to get ‘dirt’ on what’s happening in Vince McMahon’s empire.

Other than that, Dave Meltzer, owner of the site, offered nothing else.  From what I understand some (wrestling) sites are embellishing Meltzer’s note with an additional note that Hulk Hogan is also in talks.  No way, not only was Hogan not mentioned by Meltzer, Hogan himself is the source of this old, and bogus, rumour.  At any rate, take it all with a pinch of salt, including The Rock stuff. Unless some major changes (and pay cuts) are planned, it’s just a weak Friday talking point.

That said, here is what The Rock said last year.

“If you’re asking if I would consider being in the EXPENDABLES franchise – then the answer is yes. BUT.. I don’t want to be on their team and be buddies with them. F*ck that noise. I want to hunt every single one of them down and tell them to “send your soul to heaven cause your ass is mine.” Rousey lives cause she’d be my characters training partner and Crews lives as well cause my character would need someone to compete at pec popping with.”
