Oh God No! (Die Hard 6 News)

Well, it seems that just when you think that it cannot possibly get any worse for Die Hard, this news emerges.  There is going to be a sixth movie, but if you think that it’s going to be another big, dumb cash-in, it’s going to be worse than even that.

Deadline reports that Len Wiseman is returning to direct.  Forever known as the guy who helped kill Die Hard and help create DHINO.  But wait.  You haven’t even heard the worst of it yet.

The idea is to focus on John McClane circa 1979, with a new actor portraying the title role. Bruce Willis would return as the character that made him an international superstar, but only in bookend segments set in the present.  You read that right.  Now tell me if this is not the final insult or what?

You know what’s funny about this?  This is the Bruce Willis DTV cameo-con writ large.  It sounds like Willis wants the Die Hard cheque without actually doing jack shit in the movie.  He’ll be on the poster, I bet, but in the movie for four minutes.  Meanwhile Fox get their dream of rebooting the franchise with some no-name bum.

Okay, men, time to take action against this Bruce Willis guy…
