Robert Ludlum’s Works Expanding Into Universe

I think this is the type of cinematic universe I can get behind.

Universal Pictures, Mythology Entertainment, Captivate Entertainment and screenwriter James Vanderbilt are all teaming up for a series of films based on the works of Robert Ludlum, the author behind The Bourne Identity.

Along with The Jansen Directive, starring The Rock, Universal is also working on  “The Parsifal Mosaic,” “The Sigma Protocol” and “Covert One”.   Vanderbilt will also co-author two more treatments based on the Ludlum books which have not been named. The treatments will then be adapted into screenplays.

The Jansen Directive will be the first that Vanderbilt works on.  The Rock will play Paul Janson, a former operative who is now the world’s best private security consultant. Framed for the murder of a prominent Nobel laureate, he must join forces with the protege sent to kill him in order to survive.
