‘The Predator’ Set In Suburbs? No, Says Black

UPDATED: Thanks to an update from SciFied and Saverio, we can now make more sense of the odd news that The Predator would be set in suburbia… it’s probably not true.  So that’s the second time in a week someone powerful has disputed a story from The Hollywood Reporter (Stallone kind of disputed their news of a Rambo reboot).

Here is what Shane Black had to say;

PREVIOUSLY: Looks like there’s a new addition to Shane Black’s sequel (!) The Predator.  The Hollywood Reporter now has Olivia Munn as part of the cast, along with Narcos‘ Boyd Holbrook.  Check this out…

Munn will play a scientist opposite Holbrook’s Special Forces commando.

Now what I really hope from this is that they’re kind of doing the same thing that Keyes’ crew were doing in Predator 2, aware of the Predator threat and possibly trying to hunt one.  It kind of opens the door to a flurry of more cannon info.

I hope they reference Predator 2 as well.

The most interesting piece of news though is that the movie is set in the suburbs.  How is that going to work?  That’s the $64,000 question, are they really going to go the horror route for this?
