Massive: Arnold To Quit Acting, Or Conan 3 With Verhoeven?

This is going to be the biggest news so far this year.  If we put the following to pieces of news together, it appears that Arnold Schwarzenegger is at a cross roads.  Either go back to politics next year to do battle with Donald Trump…

… or perhaps take Paul Verhoeven up on an offer to let him direct him in a new Conan movie.

Firstly, here is what Politico has to say about the political side of things;

The prospect of Schwarzenegger’s return to elected politics in a 2018 U.S. Senate run — possibly as an independent — is generating increasing buzz in state Republican circles, fueled by the former governor’s seeming ability to get under the skin of President Donald Trump on social media.

Apparently a big motivation behind this is to oppose Trump;

His entry into the 2018 Senate race — when Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein would be 85 years old and up for reelection — “would give Arnold the stage to jam Trump for the next 16 months,’’ according to one veteran GOP strategist who spoke on condition of anonymity.

So here’s the other side of Arnold news.  According to TV3, Paul Verhoeven wants to pull Arnold out of his slump of shitty comeback movies;

Dutch director Paul Verhoeven wants to direct Arnold Schwarzenegger in a third Conan the Barbarian film

Verhoeven said this directly;

“The scripts he’s done recently are not representing the best of Arnold. The fans are always saying they want me to make a Conan the Barbarian sequel.”

Well yes!  We do want you to do that.  Although I have to say that Verhoeven hasn’t exactly been entertaining me much himself in recent years either, personally.  Less than Arnold actually.

But obviously, unless Schwarzenegger can’t do both, and it sounds to me like his Senate work would require a lot of tour bus and private jet super promotion, this could be very very bad!  It would sting less if it was some DTV.  But not Conan!

And not with Verhoeven!
