It’s around that time again for another Oscars ceremony. Of course, the only thing we’re interested in are how manly movies will perform. Although there aren’t many movies going to bat for us,
Blade Runner 2049 and
Dunkirk are
predicted to take home many statues.
Blade Runner 2049 should take the nod for best cinematography, although Dunkirk will back it up if not. Other movies in there are the R-Rated Baby Driver and the WW2 thriller Darkest Hour.
I have to say though I’m kind of disappointed that Panfilov’s 28 Men is not offered as a Russian entry for best foreign language film (‘Loveless’ seems to have gotten in there instead). That was a great war movie with stunning cinematography.
