Cobra Kai is a huge hit. And with on demand streaming being the way of the future, YouTube really needed that ‘something’ to kick start their Red service. Now it looks like it has sweeped the legs of its competitors and gotten the point.
According to Variety:
“Cobra Kai,” a TV offshoot of the “Karate Kid” film franchise, has outperformed all of its streaming competition, according to data provided to Variety by Parrot Analytics for the week of May 6-12, including Netflix’s “13 Reasons Why” and “Arrested Development,” as well as Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale.”
Apparently, no mercy has been shown! Of course, season two is already coming our way. And Sensei Kreese is already hyping the show;
BEYOND HUMBLED AND GRATEFUL, to all the fans and newcomers none of this is possible with out YOU! Just know season 2, will be full of no mercy! Currently on Titan teaching #Thanos how to properly sweep a leg. 👊🏻 much love to all my #cobras #cobrakai https://t.co/k7NLhy2kC7

Sensei Kreese has also been discussing the show with CBS. He reminds us that the kick initiated by Daniel LaRusso was an illegal blow, thus the win was invalid. Many karate tournaments will disqualify an entrant for delivering stiff kicks or punches to the head or face.
