New Die Hard Is Called ‘McClane’

Die Hard 6, otherwise known as Die Hard: Year One, is now known simply as McClane.  That’s what producer Lorenzo diBonaventura confirms to Empire.

The film will jump back and forward between the era when John McClane was in his 20’s (1970’s?) and the present day, featuring Bruce Willis.  The producer says this:

“We want you to get invested in John McClane more than ever before. I don’t know how you do Die Hard without Bruce – the idea that he’s not very significant in this movie is not accurate at all. We are gonna explore John McClane in his twenties. But just as prominent is the 60-year-old version.”

Apparently it’ll be a 50/50 split, basically.  The project sounds ambitious, but whether or not Len Wiseman can make it work remains to be seen.
