TRUE LIES GETTING FEMALE TV REBOOT

It looks like True Lies 2 is not going to happen.  Which shouldn’t surprise anyone.  What also shouldn’t surprise anyone is that the property is being related to television.  But it gets worse, notorious cheapskates CBS are now in control of it, and they have ordered a shift in direction.

According to DarkHorizons, the show will ditch the focus on Agent Harry Tasker and instead focus on his wife, originally played by Jamie Lee Curtis…

The new version was written by Nix, will be directed by McG and shifts the perspective of the story to put the focus on the Curtis character

Only a pilot has been ordered so far, which will probably be as far as this thing gets.  It’s also going to be directed by McG with James Cameron on board as producer.  Neither of those things are encouraging, since Cameron was ‘on board’ with this latest Terminator abominations.

CBS also recently rebooted The Equalizer with a female lead.  They also have, somewhere, a TV pilot for Beverly Hills Cop, starring Eddie Murphy.  Which it is said is so horrific that it’ll never be aired, anywhere, and even shittier networks refused to buy it.
