MANLY NEWS: WALTER HILL MAKING A WESTERN!

It’s something that doesn’t happen very often, so when it’s announced that Walter Hill is making a new film, you need to pay attention.  And he is, and it’ll be a western, so even better.  Dead For A Dollar will star Christoph Waltz and Willem Dafoe, even the cast is good.  Deadline says:

The story will follow Max Borlund (Waltz), a famed bounty hunter, hired to find and return Rachel Price, the politically progressive wife of Nathan Price, a successful Santa Fe businessman. Max is told she has been kidnapped by an African American army deserter, Elijah Jones, and is being held for ransom in Mexico. When Max goes south of the border he soon runs across his sworn enemy, expatriate American Joe Cribbens (Dafoe), a professional gambler, sometime outlaw, who Max had tracked down and sent to prison years before.

We are speculating that this could be Hill’s last picture, but so far it has some good ingredients going on here.  Hill will be 80 by the time this thing starts, but it’s Walter freaking Hill so it’s going to be fucking amazing and that’s all there is to it.
