NEWS: TERMINATOR, BRUCE LEE, LANG…

DON’T BREATHE 2

Since the original garnered fifteen times its original budget, there should be no surprise that Don’t Breathe is getting a sequel in Don’t Breathe 2.

It is eight years later, Norman (Stephen Lang) seems to have found peace, having recreated the family that was stolen from him as he serves as a guardian to an 11-year-old girl, Phoenix (Madelyn Grace). When intruders attempt to disturb the life Norman had built for himself, the evil inside of him is activated, resulting in deadly consequences.

The film is released August 13th.

BRUCE LEE

Quentin Tarantino has taken to the Joe Rogan podcast.  There he discussed the controversy over Bruce Lee’s fictional ass kicking in the movie at the hands of Cliff Boothe.  He said Boothe would actually win in such a such a fight because he is ‘a killer who killed men in a jungle, he’d kill him’.

He also responded to alleged misogyny in his films:

“It’s bullshit. There’s nothing that happens to her that couldn’t have happened to a man in that same situation. If instead of Daisy Domergue, it’s Big Bill Shelly, a man who’s 250 pounds and a big Grizzly Adams beard, you wouldn’t think shit about Kurt Russell smacking him all the time. Well, I’m having it happen to a girl who’s just as bad as Big Bill Shelly because I’m not playing fucking favorites. It makes it a little harder to watch, but I’m down with it being a little harder to watch, good, it’s a fucking rough movie. It’s supposed to hurt.”

TERMINATOR 2

Today marks the 30th anniversary of the release of Terminator 2.  Likely the peak and creative end of the series, it went on to bring in over half a billion, from a budget just under $100 million.  To mark the day, Studio Canal has released some artwork:
