EXPENDABLES BEING PUT OUT TO PASTURE

I wondered recently how Sylvester Stallone is going to shoot an Expendables movie while also supposedly shooting Little America, since both seem to overlap, unless the latter has been delayed.  Recently with the news that The Expendables 4 is actually a spin off, we’re probably seeing why.

Stallone has inferred on his forum that his time in the movie will be short and spoke of his displeasure with the shooting location being the same (Bulgaria) and crappy CGI.

The problem has always been lack of good CGI and good locations that never changed.

The shooting location is, by the way, Bulgaria, again.

It appears that Avi Lerner refused to stop cutting corners and Sylvester Stallone is easing his way out of the franchise.  The spin off will be promulgated as a Jason Statham movie (because that’s what it is) and if it fails, I’d say Lerner’s next steps will be to bleed the franchise white with final VOD movies featuring Randy Couture, possibly Dolph Lundgren etc.  Couture has hinted that such a spin off movie has already been put on the table.

A pity.  Perhaps we’re now ultimately seeing the true scale of the Expendables 3 disaster.
