The full trailer for Prey, the feminist prequel to Predator was online at the weekend. It ran for over two minutes. It’s still online in certain areas, but it’s too hot to host here (ever had one of the big studios send legal disclaimers to you? I have, actually, their lawyers are usually pretty cool and lenient). The above video is a still breakdown from a YouTuber, the best I can put up here.
Anyway, the trailer was the subject of ridicule, then nuked by the studio. Director Dan Trachtenberg says not to look for it.
Don’t bother tracking down that leaked trailer…real one coming soon!

… which of course means that people will instinctively do the opposite. As for the trailer, within seconds there is dialogue lifted right out of a Bernie Sanders rally, with the heroine ranting that she needs to show men that they’re not all that. You can probably guess how things go from there. Unless Trachtenburg plans to heavily edit the movie, I don’t see how a re-cut trailer is going to assuage the pending uproar.
