CARPENTER OPEN TO DEAD SPACE MOVIE

Dead Space is a horror video game franchise that took up the mantle over a decade ago when the likes of Resident Evil turned to shark-jumping shit.  Dead Space went back to the roots of interactive horror, combining space dread with measured gore.

If you searched for the perfect director among discussion forums for a potential movie adaptation of this game, John Carpenter would probably be the ideal get.  Turns out, he has the same idea.

Speaking with AVClub, he says when asked about a favorite game he’d like to try:

“The only one I can think of, and I’ve mentioned it before, is Dead Space. That would make a real great movie. I could do that.”

I can’t think of a better match.  Come to think of it, it looks like the game is getting a remake soon.
