35 years ago The Running Man hit cinemas.
They didn’t know how good they had it at the time, when a film like this was considered one of the ‘lesser’ Arnold Schwarzenegger releases (coming in aside releases like Predator and The Terminator).
It’s not just one of those movies where one-liners are found, but half the fucking script is a collation of instantly classic utterings. You won’t find a movie being made like this nowadays. This one particular fight is better than the entire mess of fights found in ‘superior’ modern movies like Christopher Nolan’s turgid Batman series…
Jesse Ventura. Steven E. de Souza. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Stephen King. Harold Faltermeyer. Tri-Star. Pure gold. Look at this, tell me that Marvel crap is even close to this chainsaw fight scene.
